BECOMING A YWNA
During the Espalion meeting in July 2004, the members
of the Youth Water Network (YWN) agreed on the introduction of a
new kind of membership, the Youth Water Network Associate (YWNA).
First, there was the need to set an age limit on being a YWD, we
decided to put that limit at 26, as the official European defenition
of being a youngsters says. This means that all YWDs en YWRs become
YWNAs from the age of 26 on.
Secondly, there was the question of young people to be involved
in the YWN, but as some kind of advisors or partners, not as Delegates
or Representatives. These people are young water professionals or
students, that can provide us with knowledge and experience.
We decided to call those new members “Youth
Water Network Associates”. Some criterias (you don’t
have to comply with all of them!) to become a YWNA are
- experience in water related issues
- knowledge about water and its problems
- partnership in other organisations, related to water (for example
GREEN of YWAT)
- a professional link with water, students
- MOTIVATION!!
We expect the candidates to fill out the
application form and to send it to membercandidate@youthwaternetwork.org.
